THEORETICAL PERSPECTIVES

Below you can find two (somewhat academic) articles I have written about the concept of lived-experience films. The first article talks about how and why it is anew phenomenon, an outcome of the mobile phone revolution, and what makes it accessible and inclusive unlike other non-fiction film movements. The second article looks at the theory and practice of non-fiction filmmaking movements such as cinema-verite, and avant-garde (especially the diarist form of Jonas Mekas), and details the similarities between the approaches, and the crucial differentiating factors.
